What do people in other nations put in the butter area of their refrigerator? (If they somehow owned a US standard fridge.)

I plan on posting this question to reddit, but it's down for maintenance right now.  So I put it here in case I forget that I was going to do that.

I have been missing my father very much lately, and this quote really touched me.
