Interestingly, Philips screws were DESIGNED to strip out because they wanted to avoid stalling the screw gun’s motor and damaging the tool. But in an era where every box of screws comes with a “free” screw gun bit - and any halfway decent screw gun has an adjustable torque slipping clutch - that’s a kinda silly idea.
